Hi--
im in Kuwait for work. where internet service here is like this =>
Zain Kuwait ISP is $160 to start for the USB dongle, and then $6 per day.
Its speed is 11MBps, almost twice as fast as my cox cable internet,
and almost 4 times as fast as my DSLextreme. But any speed increase is
invisible [except for large downloads or online gaming] and balanced
by its Xtreme variability. For ex., last night i gave up on the
internet when the speed dropped to dial-up levels, then even more to 1
or 2 KBps.
Due to its cost, several people get together to share one Zain
connection, using it for ex., a half an hour or an hour a night b4
letting the next person use it. This is really an excellant :) way of
sharing the internet access, alot better idea than dividing up the
bandwidth. I would think of it as time sharing of the full bandwidth
instead of slicing the bandwidth up to be shared full time. Maybe
someone in
SCFN can use this idea!
