[SCFN] why is T1 worth so much for 1.5 MBPS ?

To further emphasize the above, if you have a T1 and it goes down, the 
T1 provider monitors its own network and will usually contact you to 
begin troubleshooting.  Whether or not it is worth that much is 
debatable, if you're really a can't be down business, then 2 T1s with 
different providers and bgp with both is a nice way to start down the 
road of protecting against network failure.  A dsl provider is unlikely 
to do contact you in the event of a failure, email notification in the 
event of a pop/regional problem has been my experience.
