CAT-5 and low voltage DC power lines run through PVC conduit
Posted July 9th, 2006 by Matt Fanady
The old and the new. To the left is the original CAT-5 and grouding wire run for the original Golden Hill node 3 years ago. The CAT-5 you see running outside of the conduit, even though outdoor rated, is beginning to show signs of UV damage from the sun. Learning from this experience, we now protect all of our outdoor CAT-5 runs with PVC conduit. The new conduit to the right houses the both data and 48 volts DC for the Value Point radio, and 12 Volts DC for the 1 watt amp.
