**DIA DE LOS MUERTOS GOES DIGITAL!** Ombligo de los Barrios Chicano Park Wireless Network to launch with a FREE Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead Celebration *Sunday October 30th, 2005, 12pm - 4pm Chicano Park, San Diego, California El Ombligo de los Barrios (the Chicano Park WiFi network) launches with a free family-oriented celebration of Dia de los Muertos from 12pm to 4pm. This fun-filled, family-oriented day honors the Day of the Dead holiday traditions , celebrates the distinctive Barrio Logan culture, and provides an opportunity for all to explore the benefits that wireless technology can bring to a community. This month's meeting (Tue 15 Nov) will be in the basement of 2035 Broadway, 92102 - the "Pink Palace" building at Golden Hill. Arrive anytime after 5:30 to join in the fun. We have a great night planned. We're going to have a hands on "hack night" at Golden Hill. We have two great projects for learning, doing or just watching. Everyone is welcome to come by.

When we installed equipment at (K26 924 26th St. San Diego, CA 92102), it was in a temporary location until the property owner could re-roof the building. We're now at the point where we can move the radios to their permanent location on the chimney. This will give us much better local coverage and allow us to back-haul to both 26th/Cst. and 27th/Broadway nodes. The install starts Just after the monthly install day, at 11:00 AM.
